About Me

My name is David and I live in Lisbon, Portugal. My professional passion is Software Engineering, with a particular focus on Developer Tooling, AI and Big Data.

I am currently a Director of Engineering at SingleStore (formerly known as MemSQL) and I started here in 2016. We're building a highly scalable distributed database for applications. SingleStoreDB can handle intensive analytical queries as well as provide strong transactional guarantees for apps.

Outside of work, I like running and the sport of triathlon. In the past, I have finished an Ironman and a sub-3 hour marathon.
